Mission
The objective of Candlewood Yacht Club is to encourage and promote sailing and sailboat racing on Candlewood Lake.
We have plenty of parties to promote
camaraderie among our members.





We have an active racing program. We race every weekend from May through mid-October. We have a one-design Flying Scot Fleet and a Cruising Fleet. The club owns a fleet of Sunfish.
We have several picnics and parties throughout the year.

The club owns fleets of Opti's and 420's. The next generation of sailors has fun learning how to sail!
Facilities
Need something to say about the grounds, clubhouse, sail loft, boat ramp, picnic area, beach, swimming, etc.





Work Parties
Our club is run by our members. Everyone contributes ​​to help our club operate. This helps keep our membership fees low.
Boat storage
We have several types of storage for your boat during the season. We have:

We also store most member boats on the club property during the winter.

Candlewood Lake
Candlewood Lake is located in Western Connecticut. At 8.4 square miles, it is the largest lake in Connecticut. It is a reservoir created by the power company in 1926 as a pumped power storage facility.
It is managed by the Candlewood Lake Authority.
